Voluntary industrial fire brigade
HistoryThe Society was founded in the year 1951. The intention was to establish fire protection on the company compound and to offer support to the local firefighting brigade Brestanica. 1975 was a major turning point for the Society, as new GT units PB1-3 were built. New technology, new fuel and new equipment meant firefighting in TPP Brestanica had to be reorganised to handle the new situation. Therefore, a professional firefighting unit was established in TPP Brestanica. Its’ members have gotten ever more important role in the still present Society, which now, hand in hand with the professional unit, still keeps TPP Brestanica fire safe.
Membership
In accordance to the Statue of the Society, only TPP Brestanica employees can become members of the Society. Candidates must fill out the membership form and adopt membership rules. Employees of TPP Brestanica can remain members of the Voluntary fire brigade after they retire.
Current status
Currently, the Society has 57 members, of that 46 are male and 11 female. A board of 13 members governs the Society. It consists of the president, commander, secretary and the cashier. A 3-member supervision board supervises the governing board.
